What a year it has been. It was an absolute thrill to make it to the State Final. While the one-point loss was disappointing, we played an epic game as heavy underdogs to a state powerhouse. And we played right to the end. It certainly was a pleasure coaching this team and working with this coaching staff. I am most grateful for the overwhelming support we received from the fans, McD faculty and staff, alumni, and community. Your support, especially in the wake of the loss, has moved me and is much appreciated. I will never forget this special group of seniors and look forward to hearing about your future successes whether football-related or not. I think I speak for the rest of the coaching staff in saying to the underclassmen that I really look forward to working with you in continuing McD success. I am proud of the way many of you stepped up this year and set an example for our even younger future Crusaders! Sincerely, Coach Wec Hershey, here we come! 12/11/2010
If you were brave enough to battle the elements--and the 4 hour drive--to see the team play Erie Prep, you know that our comeback win to claim the AAA Western Final was nothing short of thrilling and worth the trip. In this victory, we really showed heart and true Crusader character. I am proud of how the kids and the staff dug deep to overcome adversity and pull out this win! Come out and support us in the AAA State Final on Friday! District Gold! 12/04/2010
